Other European Programmes
Staff at the RST are keen to involve partners in Cumbria in the widest possible range of European programmes. We provide an information and support service to partners on transnational and thematic programmes, circulating regular bulletins, informing partners of forthcoming bidding opportunities and helping them to develop applications and find partners.
We are currently involved in an INTERREG project called SRN (Sub-Regional Networks) with partners from 12 other European regions, sharing good practice in the management and delivery of EU and national regeneration funds
We are involved in a further bid for INTERREG funds, for a project on innovation in regional development known as TOWER. This project, which was approved in January 2005, addresses approaches to sustainable economic development in european regions. It will run until 2007.
We have experience of supporting partners to develop projects for Socrates (the EU education and training programme), Equal (innovative approaches to employment) and article 6 (innovative approaches to human resources). We have also been promoting the Leonardo (vocational training) and Culture 2000 programmes.
